Saturday June 13, 2009 Michelle & Bobby

We really lucked out when we were chosen to work with Michelle. A couple of months ago I was contacted by Michelle's mom Marilyn who lives in Texas. She wanted to reach out and help Michelle finalize the "details" and "pull it all together".

Our team had so much fun working with Michelle. Michelle had so many cute and original elements she wanted to incorporate into the overall design. She was also not afraid to take a chance and trust us. From mason jars, to buckets, to blue birds, to deer antlers, to buck heads.. Yes you read that right.. a Buck Head (like in deer) we had our work cut out for us.

The Bridesmaids dresses were a pretty shade steel blue. The accent color was apple green. One request Michelle had was that she wanted to incorporate blue hydrangeas. In addition, she wanted to use branches so that she could hang some adorable "blue birds". So we paired up with Lisa Gallagher from Belli Fiori I cannot wait for the professional pictures that will be sure to do her work justice.

We worked closely with Lisa and Michelle to create 3-4 separate and very different tablescapes. This allowed us to use all the elements she wanted without it looking too random and adhoc.

The next challenge we faced was that the reception was to be held in a hall in Staunton, IL that was a bit irregularly shaped. We were able to transform this room from a very rural simple venue to a very intimate and inviting space.

I have a few "top favorites" for this wedding.
1) Michelle wanted to incorporate the "Buck Head" logo from Browning into the wedding as both Bobby and Michelle love to deer hunt. So I sent an SOS out to my industry friends and the SOS was answered by Melissa Haley of MHaley Designs. She created their monogram with the buck head on a stamp. This stamp was used on the favor tags and programs.

2) My second favorite were the table numbers. When I met with Michelle to discuss table numbers I suggested that the Numbers could correspond with their ages. In other words, for table #2 both of them would have a picture of themselves at 2 years old. Michelle was really receptive to the idea and she took that upon herself to make them. They turned out amazing. In these images, you can catch a glimpse of some of the different centerpieces.

** remember please keep in mind these pictures are from my digital camera so they are not the best.

Lisa did an amazing job with the wreaths used outside of the church. Michelle had previously purchased the "G's" and wanted to have wreaths made. We spray painted them silver, and Lisa added the hydrangea, bells of ireland, and other flowers. They looked great on the outside of the church. We then moved them and reused them at the reception.

The cake was topped with more real blue hydrangea that matched Michelle’s bouquet.

Michelle's Bridal party was a dream! All of them were so sweet and so helpful. They really tended to Michelle.

Here are some bouquet shots.

The couple also had a groom’s cake, that we were able to utilize the deer antlers and the camouflage, to pay tribute to their love of hunting.

We will be sure to post more pics once the photographer has sent them.

Congratulations Michelle & Bobby! We really really enjoyed working with you.
