Bridal Shows

It is about that time of year for Bridal Shows to begin. Sometimes we get mixed reviews on bridal shows from our brides. Many brides like to simply use the internet to find information. Others, like to get out there and see things in person and have paper in hand. I think whatever works for you is what is important. If you are going to attend a bridal show you might want to research the show before. See what vendors are represented. Then make a game plan and have your questions planned out. I find it easier to make a list of questions so that I don't forget.

More talent...

You know me I am always big on passing on talent when I find it. Today I had the good fortune of meeting with a very talented videographer. He is part of the husband and wife duo that is Archway Media Services. www.archwaymedia.com Even after Brian and Angee just welcomed a new baby girl, he found the time to come meet with me. I was very impressed with their work! I can't wait to do a wedding with them....

Brides Against Breast Cancer..

We never really know what to do with our beautiful dream gowns after our big day. I know personally mine has been sitting in a sealed box in my basement for the past 7 1/2 years. Well I recently learned of a very unique organization that can make good use of them. It is called Brides Against Breast Cancer. "You can help make Wishes & Dreams Come True, donate your wedding gown."

http://bridesagainstbreastcancer.org/

How to Donate Your Gown
How can you help make dreams come true? At this time, we are in need of contemporary gown styles, slips and veils dating from 1995 until the present day. Each gown that arrives at our organization is carefully prepared for our upcoming "Brides Against Breast CancerTM, Nationwide Tour of Gowns" sales. The thousands of generous donations we receive from designers, manufactures, bridal shops, and individuals worldwide, enables Making Memories to grant final wishes to women and men suffering from terminal breast cancer

What a great person ...

Oh my gosh...can I tell you how excited I am about this post... Recently I got to meet a lady that I really look up to. Her name is Mary Dann http://www.marydann.com/ She is a very well known very successful Wedding Planner in California. She was just as positive and wonderful in person as she is on tv (she is sometimes seen on Style network "Whose Wedding is it anyway?" I feel very lucky to have met Mary. Even though she is a celebrity in her own right, she was approachable and offered great advice. She was even 7 months pregnant (LOL) I hope that I can be as successful in this industry as she has been! How cool is that?

2 Families ....lots of drama

I get this a lot.. getting married is so much more than just the trip down the isle. Many times it involves bringing two (or more) backgrounds, religions, families together. Often times the bride and grooms start out believing it is only about them but soon realize differently. I say take advantage of the time, get input. Turn what normally could be like clash of the titans, into a happy wonderful experience. Just remember...that which does not kill us makes us stronger ..

Karol & Tyler

I can hardly wait until Karol and Tyler get married next year. I have spent quite a bit of time with them while we chose venues, and florists, etc. She is from Brazil and he is from Central Illinois, two different backgrounds coming together! Boy I love my job...

Honeymoons....

Recently I was lucky enough to attend a Sandals workshop. I was so excited after the workshop I wanted to get on a plane right then!! They truly epitomize the words romance, luxury, and relaxation.. Take a gander on their website..http://www.sandals.com/index.cfm?referral=112531&ABC=N052496. See if you are as impressed as me. Unfortunately our honeymoon was a complete nightmare 7 1/2 years ago. However, I think my husband Jason and I are going to try to take a second honeymoon at Sandals!

Whats the big deal about photographers

I get asked this quite a lot .... many couples ask me if this is an area that they can go sparingly on. I always try to explain to them that long after the cake is cut, the dress is stored, the presents are opened, you will have your pictures. I think it is hands down one of the most important elements there is. Now that doesn't mean you have to choose the most expensive, it just means you have to find a quality photographer who shares the same creative vision as what you want. For the next month or so, I am going to post some vendor info to reference.. I will start with a really talented woman Pam Cooley. http://pamcooleyphotos.com Some of her work is featured on my website. Check back for more featured talent...

Finally a blog

Can you believe it..I finally got to get a blog up and running. Stay tuned for more info....
